"Guild Status" MORE Information please..
Currently in the guild status area it tells us who was invited and by whom. But I put our members class/lvl on our website and it is very very difficult to keep that list updated when the guild status doesn't tell me who left. Sometimes they just leave and I have no clue.
I have to cross-reference with a printout to find out. If in the status area it said "XXXX XXXX Left the guild at <<DATE>>" then I could just update the members area of that info. I don't really care why they left (well I do, but not going to bother them about it) ...just want to keep that list updated as best I can.

Agreed... a game titled Guild Wars seems to have so few options available to guilds... odd

Good point slugfly, The guild system IS rather low on options...At the moment.
I think a Character profile should be made, so when you click the name, it shows level etc, class, and profession

There is a crude way to tell by rolling over their name after pressing G. It will say in the popup text who their original char is they signed up with.

Although the only reason I put this member information on the site is because ppl always have to ask class/lvl of everyone. They could fix this by putting that information in the G area

reply?
i agree i think there should be a few more things added to the guild menu.
1) Everyones level and class ( to the char. they are using at the moment)
2) what area they are in
3) ability to form a party of any size together (only fellow guild memeber)
4) and as someone said, the guild hal should be a guild PVP area for sparring where you get some good exp if you win, (i cant rememeber who said it, just not my idea the sparring, but i like it. ^^)
5) another idea someone had was a guild bank, just a bank that the guild shares in general, should have 50 slots for items incase a ally need crafting parts.
Just a bit limited to the guild's abilities, it really sucks. XP.

Guild leavings should be shown.
As an example, a friend of mine left our guild and I didn't notice it for 2 days (we don't talk much outside of the game, too busy IRL).

What I'd like to see in the Guild Info box:
1) Names of character, shown similarly as the Friends List: Name as Invited (Name Currently On)
EX: Galatea Nereid (Atropos Fate)
2) Class and Level, to show next to their name:
EX: Galatea Nereid (E/Me 20)
3) A "locate" option, which would then tell the area & district
4) An "invite" option, to form parties for leveling, missions, quests, pvp, etc.
5) More characters allowed to type in Guild Announcement -OR- a separate text area to put important contacting information, such as info about the Teamspeak/Ventrilo server/channel/password, Website and/or Forums URL, etc. Right now, all that info is in the announcement box -- leaving no room to actually MAKE announcements (ex: "This Saturday, we'll be meeting for..")

Dead thread?
I don't know why this thread died but I see at least one of the ideas got implemented here (unless scrimmage already existed before the creation of this thread). I notice that it has also not been indexed
I recently deployed a website for my guild and I realised that it was partly because I wanted a place for info that *should* be in GW but isn't and partly because I wanted to discuss some things with all my members but not all of us are online at the same time.
Hence my resurrection of this thread. Excuse the length of my post.
I would like to add a few things to some of the proposed ideas, however:
1) A way to see all characters created by a guild member as well as their class and level. This comes at the cost of privacy which is what I'd like to address. Players should have the option to hide the existence of a character (for whatever reason). When the player plays with that character its class and level are hidden. This can be made further configurable by choosing whether you'd like to report class and/or level of every individual character to the guild. Even more configurability may be allowed be letting you choose whether you'd like to report to members and up, officers and up or only the leader (or no-one at all of course). When you play with that character and someone in your guild spots you, however, the game is up :-)
The core feature I'd like to see here is the showing of all characters a particular member has as well as allowing the member to decide whether he'd like to report the existence of a particular character (all other options described above are simply nice-to-have and may serve no practical purpose, I just included them for completeness)
2) Reporting of a player's current location. A player should of course also be allowed to opt to hide this from his guild mates.
3) A guild storage account I feel is priority over all the other ideas here. It should be one of the more expensive services available from the Guild Lord (25-50k) but with the cost should come some decent privilege features. It should default to 'view only' behaviour for new recruits and guests. Members must then be given permission to take items from the stash from the leader or an officer who has already been granted permission to do so. Officer status does not necessarily imply access to the stash. I don't foresee guild storage being used for anything other than beginner items, materials and collectibles. It is logical to implement seperate permissions (and perhaps storage space) for materials and collectibles. That way new recruits may be given immediate access to the item and collectible storage but guild material storage is controlled (or whatever the guild feels is the best config for it).
The most important 'access control' feature however, will be to gold. All members (including the leader) will be able to add gold but not remove it (the standard limit of 100k should apply I think). This money can then only be used to purchase hall services (it may be more practical then that this feature be available separately to the 25-50k guild storage). A secondary feature would be to pay out all gold remaining in the 'bank' to all members that contributed to its balance based on their relative contribution. This is so that should members contribute and some of the money spent, then paid back out, the correct amounts are paid out to each member.
i.e. If one member contributes 1k and another 15k and a Rune Trader bought (10k IIRC) leaving 6k, member 1 receives 6000 * 1/16 and member 2 receives 6000 * 15/16 gold.
4) I still wanted to say some stuff about more info about alliances but I think that's been covered already and I've ranted on for more than long enough.
